The Port of Chittagong (Port code: BDCGP) is the largest seaport in Bangladesh. Historically, it has been the most important port in Bangladesh and has always played an important role in the country's economic development. It is the second largest city in Bangladesh and The largest port is located in the lower reaches of the Kanafuli River in the southeast of the country, southwest of the port city, and about 15 kilometers west of the Bay of Bengal. Due to the regulation of the upstream reservoir, the water level of the Kanafuli River is stable, but the waterway has many shoals, and only ships with a draft of less than 9 meters are allowed to enter the port. There are tides in the port, with a high tide of 4 meters, a low tide of 0.5 meters, a high tide of 2.9 meters, and a low tide of 2.9 meters. 1.2 meters. There are 17 trestle berths stretching on the right bank of the port area, including two barge berths. The length of the piers is 130-190 meters, and the water depth at the front is 6.5-9.0 meters. Among them, 13 are used for loading and unloading groceries, and 4 are used for loading and unloading grain, cement, bricks and other construction materials. Due to the growth of cargo in and out of the port, two multi-purpose berths were built on its downstream north bank. In addition, there are 7 tanker buoys, 4 dry cargo buoys and 2 barge buoys on the river. There are also 60,000-dwt crude oil berths at the outer anchorage.​
